An heirloom pressed in metal.
Foil is one of the oldest luxury print techniques in the world - real metal foil, a heated die, and pressure. We've been finishing foil wedding invitations from our Perth studio for over 25 years, and today we offer it two ways. Flat digital foil is printed in-house: metallic artwork bonded flush to the page, faster and more flexible on colour. Hot foil is pressed in metal the traditional way for a deeper, tactile impression.
Both catch the light - we'll help you choose the one that fits your suite and your budget.
Two foils, side by side.
The difference is in the press. We'll guide you to the right one for your suite, your timeline and your budget.

Hot Foil Stamping
Real metal foil pressed into 600gsm stock with a heated die and considered pressure, leaving a tactile impression you feel as much as see. The heritage technique, made the traditional way for couples who want the deepest, most luxurious finish.
Best on: Cotton/textured stocks, for the most tactile result.
Lead time: 4 weeks from artwork approval.

Digital Foil
Metallic foil bonded to digitally-printed artwork, sitting flush with the page - no die required. Printed and finished in our Perth studio, so it's faster, more flexible on colour, and the more accessible price point. The modern way to shimmer.
Best on: Smooth or pearl cardstock, for the cleanest bond.
Lead time: 7 to 10 business days from artwork approval.
Foil Colour Options
Choose your finish.
Four foil families, each available in hot foil or digital. We will help you choose the colour that lifts your palette and the technique that fits your timeline.

Felt before it is read.
Before a single word is read, foil announces the occasion. It moves with the light, throws a little shine across the room, and tells your guests this is a wedding worth dressing up for. Foil is for couples who want the invitation itself to feel like the beginning of the celebration - not the admin before it.
It suits couples drawn to a little glamour -classic typography, considered palettes, a sense of occasion from the very beginning. And it doesn't stop at the invitation: foil carries through to menus, place cards, signage and table styling, so a single shimmer ties the whole day together.
The Full Suite
Pair foil with the rest of the suite.
Foil is rarely the whole story. The most considered suites layer foil with one or more of the techniques below - all finished in our Perth studio.

Foil + Letterpress
The pairing that defines couture stationery. Foil for the shimmer, letterpress for the impression. Two press runs, one suite. Read more on the letterpress page.

FAQs
Foil Wedding Invitations FAQ
Everything couples ask before they commit to foil. If your question is not here, book a Free Design Discovery and we will walk you through it.
What is foil stamping on wedding invitations?
Foil stamping is a printing technique where heated metal dies press real metal foil onto paper using pressure. The result is a metallic, raised finish that catches the light. We also offer digital foil, which bonds metallic foil to digitally-printed artwork without a die.
What is the difference between hot foil and digital foil?
Hot foil is pressed into the stock with a heated die, leaving a slight impression you can feel - and it works beautifully on cotton and textured cardstock for a tactile, heritage finish.
Digital foil bonds to printed artwork and sits flush; it's faster, more colour-flexible and more affordable, but needs a smooth surface, so we recommend pearl or smooth cardstock for the cleanest result. We'll help you match the technique to your design, stock, timeline and budget.
Can you do custom foil colours?
Yes. Our foil range covers warm, cool and contemporary tones - from classic gold, rose gold and silver to copper, and more experimental shades. Share your palette and we'll guide you to the closest match across hot foil or digital foil, and send a swatch so you can see it against your suite before you commit.
How much do foil wedding invitations cost?
Design deposits begin at $200 (Studio Collection), $300 (Tailored Touch), or $600 (Bespoke) - applied against your final commission. The total cost depends on quantity, the foil technique chosen, and the rest of the suite. Use our guided pricing tool for a clear estimate.
How long does foil production take?
Hot foil production runs 4 weeks from artwork approval. Digital foil runs 7 to 10 business days. We recommend booking your suite 4 to 6 months before your wedding date to allow time for design, revisions, and finishing.
Do you ship foil wedding invitations Australia-wide?
Yes. Every suite is designed, foiled, and hand-finished in our Osborne Park studio and shipped to couples across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, the Gold Coast, regional Australia, and internationally on request.
