Letterpress is the oldest luxury printing technique in the world: a die, rich ink, and real pressure driven into thick cotton stock. The result is a tactile, recessed impression you feel as much as see, the opposite of ink sitting flat on a page.
It is printed in one or two carefully chosen PMS colours, and can be left as a blind deboss, or layered with hot foil or embossing for a suite with real depth. We have been designing letterpress wedding invitations from our Perth studio for over 25 years, working with specialist presses to bring each one to life.

Letterpress is hand-pressed one sheet at a time, no shortcuts, no automation. Designed in our Perth studio and pressed by master printers, the result is a wedding invitation that holds the weight of the moment.
01 Design
Your suite is designed in our Perth studio, refined over two rounds of revisions, and finalised to artwork.
02 Plate
A photopolymer or magnesium plate is made for each colour. The plate is the negative of your design, raised where the ink will land.
03 Press
The plate is mounted, inked, and pressed into 600gsm cotton stock one sheet at a time by our specialist printers. Each colour is a separate press run.
04 Finish
Edges hand-finished, envelopes lined, suite assembled and boxed. Hand-checked before it leaves our studio.

Letterpress + Foil

Letterpress + Blind Impression
Letterpress without ink, the press leaves only the impression. A whisper rather than a statement. Pairs beautifully with inked letterpress for layered detail in a single suite.
Letterpress + Embossing
Letterpress presses the design in; embossing lifts it out. Combine the recessed impression with a raised emboss for relief in both directions, a sculptural, dimensional finish that is striking on a monogram, crest or border.
Letterpress + 600gsm
Soft cotton that takes the press like nothing else. The thicker the stock, the deeper the impression sits, which is why we press on luxurious 600gsm as standard. Weight you feel the moment it is in hand.

What is letterpress printing?
Letterpress is a printing technique that uses a raised die, pressed into paper with ink, leaving a deep impression. It is the oldest commercial printing method in the world. Each suite is hand-pressed one sheet at a time on specialist presses, then designed and finished in our Perth studio.
Why is letterpress more expensive than digital printing?
Letterpress is hand-pressed one sheet at a time by skilled printers, and a separate plate is required for each colour. The paper is heavier (600gsm cotton), and every suite is finished by hand. The result is a wedding invitation that is felt before it is read, craftsmanship digital cannot replicate.
Can letterpress be done in colour?
Yes. We letterpress in one or two PMS colours, including white ink on dark stocks. Each colour is a separate press run, so a two-colour suite takes twice the press time, but the result is exceptional.
What is blind letterpress?
Letterpress without ink. The press still leaves the impression in the paper, but no colour is laid. The result is a tonal, sculptural finish, the impression is the design. Pairs beautifully with inked letterpress for layered subtlety.
How much do letterpress wedding invitations cost?
Design Fees begin at $200 (Studio Collection), $300 (Tailored Touch), or $600 (Bespoke), applied against your final commission. Letterpress adds a print premium because of the press time and plates required. Use our guided pricing tool for a clear estimate.
How long does letterpress production take?
3 to 4 weeks from artwork approval, depending on suite complexity. Multi-colour suites or pieces that combine letterpress with foil need additional press time. Book your suite 4 to 6 months before your wedding to allow time for design, revisions, and finishing.

Yes. Every suite is designed and hand-finished in our Osborne Park studio, pressed by our specialist printers, and shipped to couples across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, the Gold Coast, regional Australia, and internationally on request.
